General Settings

General theme settings allow you to control the global appearance and functionality of your store. From branding elements like favicon, colors, and typography to advanced features like animations, breadcrumbs, product badges, and cart behavior ' these settings help you customize your storefront without editing any code.

1. Favicon

A favicon is the small icon displayed in a browser tab next to your store name. Adding a favicon helps customers recognize your store when multiple tabs are open.

  • Go to Shopify Admin ? Online Store ? Themes.
  • Click Customize.
  • Open Theme Settings.
  • Select Favicon.
  • Upload your favicon image.
  • Recommended size: 32 ' 32 px.

2. Colors

Color schemes allow you to define the visual style of your store. Each color scheme controls background, text, buttons, and other UI elements.

  • Open Theme Settings.
  • Select Colors.
  • Create or edit color schemes.
  • Apply color schemes across sections of your store.

3. Typography

Typography settings allow you to control the fonts used throughout your store. You can set different fonts for headings and body text.

  • Open Theme Settings.
  • Select Typography.
  • Choose heading and body fonts.
  • Save changes to apply them store-wide.

4. Layout

Layout settings allow you to control the structure and spacing of your store pages. You can adjust the page container width, grid spacing, and enable a banner overlay for the homepage header.

  • Page Container ' Controls the maximum width of your store layout.
  • Horizontal Spacing ' Adjusts the spacing between columns in grid layouts.
  • Vertical Spacing ' Controls the space between rows in grid-based sections.
  • Enable Banner Overlay ' When enabled, the header overlaps the first section of the homepage to create a transparent overlay effect.
  • Select Overlay Logo ' Upload a separate logo to be displayed when the header is used in overlay mode.
  • Color Scheme for Banner Overlay ' Select the color scheme used when the overlay header is active.
  • Sticky Overlay Header ' Allows the overlay header to remain fixed at the top while scrolling.

5. Drawers

Drawer settings control the appearance of slide-out panels such as the cart drawer, mobile menu drawer, and quick view drawer.

  • Open Theme Settings.
  • Select Drawers.
  • Choose a color scheme for drawer components.

6. Scroll to Top

The scroll-to-top button allows customers to quickly jump to the top of long pages.

  • Open Theme Settings.
  • Select Scroll to Top.
  • Enable the feature.
  • Choose a color scheme.

7. Teaser

The teaser feature allows you to show promotional messages or quick announcements in a floating element on the page.

  • Enable teaser from Theme Settings.
  • Select color scheme.
  • Choose horizontal and vertical position.

8. Animations

Animations add interactive visual effects to sections of your store. You can also enable cursor-follow animations.

  • Open Theme Settings ? Animations.
  • Enable section animations.
  • Enable follow cursor animation if needed.
  • Select animation color scheme.

9. Breadcrumbs

Breadcrumb navigation helps customers understand their current location within your store and quickly navigate back to previous pages.

  • Enable breadcrumbs.
  • Select a color scheme.
  • Optionally display collection names in product URLs.

10. Border Radius

Border radius settings allow you to control the roundness of elements such as buttons, cards, badges, and inputs.

  • Open Theme Settings.
  • Select Border Radius.
  • Adjust radius values for UI elements.

11. Social Media

You can connect your store with social media platforms so customers can easily follow your brand.

  • Open Theme Settings ? Social Media.
  • Paste your social profile links.
  • Save changes.

12. Search Drawer

The search drawer allows customers to search products without leaving the page and can highlight popular searches or collections.

  • Configure popular searches heading.
  • Select collections for suggested results.
  • Add featured collections or best sellers.

13. Gift Wrapping

Gift wrapping allows customers to add a gift wrap option to their order. This is useful for special occasions such as birthdays and holidays.

  • Create a product named Gift Wrapping.
  • Set the handle as gift-wrapping.
  • Set the gift wrap price.
  • Hide the product from collections.

14. Color Swatches

Color swatches allow customers to visually select product color variants instead of using dropdown menus.

  • Open Theme Settings ? Color Swatches.
  • Enable color swatches.
  • Choose swatch shape (e.g., pill, circle,square,default).

15.Badges

Product badges highlight important product states such as Sale, Sold Out, or promotional labels.

  • Enable product badges.
  • Select badge position.
  • Choose color schemes for sale, sold out, and custom badges.
  • Select sale badge style (text or percentage).

16. Cart & Cart Drawer

Cart settings control how customers interact with the shopping cart and whether the cart opens as a drawer or a separate page.

  • Select cart type: Drawer or Cart Page.
  • Enable cart notes.
  • Display tax information.
  • Show discount code option.
  • Enable product recommendations in cart drawer.
